Printing & Framing
All pieces are kept in original dimensions and printed on a custom fine art paper specially developed to match the texture of the original certificate. Prints are mounted behind a premium "passe-partout" mat that adds to the visual appeal of the piece. This is a stunning method of framing and the preferred choice of most artists and galleries for this size of prints.
Our premium frames are available in black, white, natural oak, and natural wenge. Each frame is handcrafted from premium, FSC-certified hardwood and glazed with museum-grade protective acrylic glass to ensure longevity. All pieces arrive with pre-installed hanging hardware for easy installation. Frames feature an elegant 0.6" (15mm) profile and measure 18.5" x 13.8" (47cm x 35cm).

LEAR JET CORP.
In 1963, Bill Lear stood on a runway and watched his life savings lift off from a runway in Wichita, Kansas. He was 61, and had amassed a fortune in the consumer electronics age. The jet age was upon us, and the serial entrepreneur had seen a chance to build a business around his passion, flying.
Lear Jet Corp. was born out of a Second World War manufacturing site in Switzerland that Bill Lear had purchased to produce an aircraft specifically built for the private luxury market. Lear had been living in Switzerland with his family when he stumbled upon the partly abandoned fighter plane factory. The company was based in Switzerland for a few years before relocating to Wichita, Kansas in 1962 where it remained.
Modelled after a swiss jet fighter, production of the original Learjet began in 1963 and the Learjet 23 took its first flight on October 7 of that year. This plane, which provided passenger seating for 6-8 people, is the first jet solely known as a private business jet and helped make Learjet synonymous with “private plane”. Sinatra had one. Elvis had one. James Brown had one. The first Learjet 23 is now on display at the Smithsonian’s National Air & Space Museum in Washington, D.C. in honor of the role it played in advancing private aviation.
In 1964, the company was renamed to Lear Jet Corporation as the first production models of the Learjet 23 were delivered. Lear Jet Corp. also became a publicly traded company that year. Subsequent versions of that first plane, the Learjet 24 and Learjet 25 took their first flights in 1966 and the company again changed its name to Lear Jet Industries, Inc.
Then in 1967, Bill Lear sold his controlling interest in the company which was worth about $27M to the Gates Rubber Company of Denver, CO. Lear stayed on as a member of the board for 2 additional years before retiring.
With the Gates purchase and the subsequent merger with Gates Aviation, the Learjet line was poised to continue leading the development of the business aviation and private plane industry. It would be the first manufacturer to have a fleet of aircraft to exceed one-million flight hours and to pass the 500 planes produced mark. In 2021, Bombardier signalled the end for an aircraft that was once shorthand for the luxury private jet travel of the super-rich, citing dwindling demand and changing consumer preference.
